Prayer for the Bereaved and Broken
Dear heavenly Father, we come in Jesus name.
As we bow before your throne of grace, we humble ourselves. We know that you are God of the living and of the dead.
We lift up all the bereaved ones today. Touch them with the spirit of “healing”. Heal the mind, body, soul and spirit. We stand as intercessors bearing the burden of those who can NOT bare their own.
We come against the spirit of depression, oppression, loneliness, hopelessness and melancholy. We speak to those who remain, that as James 1:14 KJV) tells us “Life is like a vapor that appears for a little time, and then vanishes.” We thank you for the greatest gift ever given to us “Life”!
We send the Word of God to the bereaved and broken today. “For the Word of God is quick, and powerful….and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart”. (Heb 4:12 (KJV)
As each day passes and the “true” healing begins, we pray that the Spirit of truth will come and make his abode in the hearts, minds and the soul of the bereaved and broken. Fill the empty space. Give new vision. Give new revelation to your people.
We apply the blood of Jesus as you wash them from their sorrows. I ask you Holy Spirit to do your work!
So as the bereaved and broken began the journey through the Five Stages of Grief, bring them through with “total healing” like only you can.
I speak to these spirits of:
· Denial-"this can't be happening to me"?
· Anger-"why me?"
· Bargaining-bargaining often takes place before the loss. Attempting to make deals with the spouse who is leaving, or attempting to make deals with God to stop or change the loss.
· Depression-overwhelming feelings of hopelessness, frustration, bitterness, self pity, mourning loss of person as well as the hopes, dreams and plans for the future. Suicidal.
· Acceptance-there is a difference between resignation and acceptance. You have to accept the loss, not just try to bear it quietly.
Above all, God has already scripted this time and season in heaven through Heb 9:27 (KJV) “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment”. Eccles 3:2 “There is a time to be born and a time to die”. Eccles 3:11 “He (God) makes everything beautiful in his time”.
So we know you have allowed this to be and we shall accept your will.
We speak to those who have no rest….”Rest in the Lord”!
It is written in Matthew 11:28 (KJV) “Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
So heavenly Father in Jesus name as our brother and sister began to walk through this journey of healing, may your Spirit take full control of them. Carry them through their dark days-for you are the light of the world. Carry them through their lonely days-you are a Good shepherd who cares for his sheep. John 10:11
All will be well in the end-In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
